Gemini Program Researchers to Employ Powerful Data Integration Platform

Posted September 22, 2014

SEATTLE, WA – September 22, 2014 – One Mind announced a far-reaching collaboration with Palantir Technologies, Inc. to improve programs for the prevention and treatment of brain injuries, starting with One Mind’s flagship Gemini Program. The One Mind and Palantir partnership provides a powerful new platform for Gemini researchers to share and analyze data.

The partnership gives researchers and clinicians the ability to integrate and study diverse data sets on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS). Work has already begun on integrating and analyzing data from the 652 patient TRACK-TBI Pilot study data. Based on the initial results, Palantir will be used to analyze data sets gathered from Gemini’s 3,000-patient, 11 enrollment site TRACK-TBI study. TRACK-TBI is a longitudinal study that has already enrolled over 400 patients.

The Palantir platform integrates data into a single, secure and accessible environment. The platform is capable of integrating data of any type and format, enabling users to explore complex relationships and networks.

Given the progress TRACK-TBI researchers have made in the data collection standards for their study, One Mind CEO, General Pete Chiarelli, U.S. Army (Retired), said the partnership will greatly expand the possibility of these same researchers advancing the science and helping patients much faster than if they were employing traditional methods. “Palantir could prove to be a game changer for the entire Gemini research community. It would open the possibility of giving Gemini researchers the ability to integrate other data sets, regardless of how the data was collected, into the Gemini database.”
